Yes, I'm From America

Climb

Beginnings of conversation revealed my accent - or lack thereof - and prompted question after question.

My nationality?

"I'm from America", was my reply.

And lucky for my quiet disposition, my words proved to be gold.

All at least three times
my age, my fellow wanderers found American youth especially curious.

A dozen kilometers of steep climb later, and I don't believe I've ever talked so much, at least not with strangers.

But I must say, the Irish don't come as strangers at all.
