Frühlingsfest & Emptiness

*Disclaimer: the German culture is truly my favorite. But, as with anything, extremes are simply terrible. So, sure, enjoy a beer. And a pretzel, and dancing and loud music. But my goodness, don’t drink away your brains!*

Alcohol must truly have detrimental effects on the brain. While there are surely many good people here (I’m hoping to find more), there is also just a lot of absent-minded foolishness and ignorance, especially among youth.

And since I really don’t fit in anyway (that’s the way to go, isn’t it!? There’s nothing to loose!), I wandered over to the Oktoberfest grounds (where a spring fest is currently going on), early on a Monday morning, found myself on a nearly empty fair ground with only mothers, strollers and children walking through the still vacant lot, enjoying the view and sorting through thoughts.

You can’t quite do something like that while drunk or hungover, now can you?

There’s so much to see, so much to do, so much life to live. I’d rather not spend my time hungover in bed or drunk and unable to remember a good time.

Please don't try to argue that being drunk is fun. Helps you escape reality, sure, but it can't ever last, and it leaves you (much) worse off than before.
