Germany

I miss many things about being at home. I also miss driving.
But with Independence Day quickly approaching, I’ve been more than a little homesick for America.

Long car ride conversations last night inevitably turned into political ones. These Europeans are more current with American politics than are most Americans.

And to my surprise, many of the Central Europeans are supportive of Trump.

Yes, you read that correctly.

And the important thing here, is that these are the people who are dealing first hand with the current immigrant crisis. They’ve seen for themselves what is happening.

Most shocking: the natives of many first world European countries are making immigration plans themselves, due to the refugees coming into their countries.

They also, very evidently, value honesty. The Swiss, in particular, tell it how it is. There’s no sugar coating. And, consequently, these individuals are in no way supportive of political correctness.

Food for thought, I’ll say. But most importantly: America is not the only nation in the world. If any problem is to be solved, we need to listen to other nations as well, without labels or assumptions.
