I’ve eaten more bread and more meat and more chocolate than I probably ever should.
But I’m in Switzerland. So I suppose it’s alright.
I cooked a healthy lunch for my host family today. Something about it prompted my host mother to take a photograph of it.
I also made some Rice Krispie Treats, using chocolate Rice Krispies, as that is all I could find in the supermarket.
And, needless to say, that sugary dessert was very well enjoyed.
But, I think, eating such rich foods is ok here, considering the amount of biking and walking, as opposed to driving everywhere.
It just seems to make sense. Everyone bikes and walks everywhere, therefore eating dessert everyday is not necessarily bad. In addition, the meats come from the local farms, and as the Swiss like to emphasize, their meat doesn’t come from “mass slaughter houses”, thus making it a bit more wholesome and natural. The bread is freshly baked with sprouted whole grains, and the milk is fresh from Swiss cows.
Rich foods can be okay, too. You just need the appropriate lifestyle to make them so.
